ny-lon was founded in 2005 by Jerry Sacher and Kate Loudoun-Shand.
Jerry brings 25 years of retail and design experience to ny-lon. Having headed up home furnishings design at Marks & Spencer, he founded the much-admired Jerry’s Home Store, the UK’s first US-style homewares speciality store. After selling Jerry’s, he set up the ny-lon design studio with one of the UK’s leading designers, Kate Loudoun-Shand.
Kate, a graduate of the Royal College of Art, started her career in fashion design with Calvin Klein and successfully extended her work into the home interiors market, working with retailers such as West Elm, Banana Republic and Ralph Lauren in the US and Tesco in the UK.
Since forming ny-lon, Kate and Jerry have brought together a talented team of designers and product developers with extensive knowledge of markets, products, materials and techniques, able to respond effectively and imaginatively to our clients’ design challenges, including design and product development hubs in Asia.
